St Julian's School in Wellow held its annual Duck Race last week to raise funding for the school.

Children and their parents enjoyed an exciting trip to the Ford in the village, a popular local spot for walks, family outings and the occasional paddle!

The event, organised by the St Julian's PTA, also featured children performing for their parents a traditional maypole dance, an opportunity for everyone to try some delicious cakes and take part in a selection of fete games.

School Headteacher, Ruth Noall, said: "Thanks to all the parents and children who came along to support our annual Duck Race at Wellow Ford last week. It was a fantastic evening with activities for the whole family. The commitment of the school's PTA allowed us to raise £1,450 which will go towards much needed funding for the children's education."

The evening included a raffle, teddy tombola and an inflatable bouncing slide for the children.

"Many of the children were brave souls and played around in the shallow areas. Not deterred by the cold weather they took their socks and shoes off and jumped right in!"
