Planning news this week includes:

An application to build a two storey extension at Apple Tree House, on Farrington Road, in Paulton, and to replace the attached garage/fitness room, has been permitted.

Refused : An application at 33 Carlingcott Lane, in Carlingcott, to build two new four bedroomed detached homes and garages. Reasons given include that the proposed dwellings are to be located outside of any defined housing development boundary and have not been identified as an essential dwelling for rural workers. The site is situated in the centre of the hamlet of Carlingcott itself, located on the north east edge of Peasedown St. John, where the councillors also objected to the plans.

The plans were for a site directly adjacent to the Old Farmhouse,

which is a Grade II listed building dating from the mid C17.

Permitted, an application by 1 Mill Lane, in Timsbury, to extend and replace an existing single-storey rear lean-to.

Also in B&NES an application is in from Brenroy, on Durcott Lane, in Camerton, (Reference 21/04312/FUL) to put up a glamping pod. The site in question was for many years the site of a skip hire depot, but now the owners want to put in an eco-friendly tourist dwelling which has double glazed circular French doors to the front.

In Clutton an application is in to discharge condition 3 (Hard and Soft Landscaping (Pre-occupation) of application 21/02960/FUL at Stoneacre Bungalow, on Stowey Road, (21/04291/COND). That is for the application for change of use from an agricultural field to form extension to the residential curtilage of the bungalow.

There is no objection from planners to an application to fell a Silver Birch at 28 Millards Hill, in Welton.
