Feeling very spring like in Midsomer Norton today and a little bit Scottish

The centre of Midsomer Norton was busy today (February 26) as locals enjoyed the first brilliant sunshine of the year.

They also had a musical treat, with Sean the Piper performing outside Wetherspoons.

We stopped for a little musical enjoyment and heard how this local took to the pipes when they were calling to him.

Sean told Nub News that he was inspired to take up playing the bagpipes at a very young age inspired by a holiday to Scotland.

He said: " I started piping when I was nine, that was in 1979. When I left school I started busking and have been doing so ever since.

" I had four teachers who would only teach one guy at a time, so my first teacher then told me I needed to move on to a better piper... a bit like a ladder."

Sean's second teacher joined the Scots Guards, so he was forced to find another teacher, a naval engineer called Bill Gas in Bath. Then Bill moved back (to Scotland of course) so Sean went to his teacher, a retired chemist called Ian Angus.

Sean, (real name Carter) who is in the City of Bristol Pipes and Drums band told us: " It all started when I went to Scotland as kid and my mum fell in with the bagpipes, she started to learn and so did I. She is still piping too, at 74."

The band also has a pair from Midsomer Norton - if you are reading this Mason and Callum - hello from your fellow band member.
