Find out more about volunteering in B&NES
By Susie Watkins 24th Mar 2023
Have you ever wondered about giving some of your time to help others?
Bath & North East Somerset Third Sector Group (3SG) is delighted to be teaming up with St Mungo's and HCRG to help local residents find out more about volunteering opportunities in a special online event taking place on Wednesday, 29th March from 6pm - 6.45pm.
Paula Turner, HCRG Volunteer & Wellbeing Courses Lead, will demonstrate the range of volunteering opportunities available within B&NES. She will cover how to register as a volunteer and also share one-off volunteer opportunities available. View all their current opportunities here.
Ralph Lilywhite, St Mungo's Volunteer Trainer, will be showcasing the various opportunities for volunteer training and development across Bath and North East Somerset. Find out more about St Mungo's here.
3SG is a membership network of over 200 charities, community groups and social enterprises across B&NES. 3SG offers support to the local Third Sector through advocacy, 1:1 assistance, training, workshops and networking. It also works alongside the Community Wellbeing Hub in Peasedown St John, which brings Third Sector organisations together to help people with their health and wellbeing needs.
There are many benefits of volunteering, including gaining new skills, meeting new people, better physical and mental health and wellbeing, more confidence and valuable work experience that can look great on your CV. Volunteering opportunities can be anything from an ongoing commitment to a one-off helping hand on an ad hoc basis.
Residents can sign up to the online volunteering information session here. For more information about 3SG, visit: 3sg.org.uk
