By Susie Watkins 24th Jan 2021
Radstock and Keynsham Neighbourhood Policing team - along with colleagues from the Fire service were out today clearing the road for the local emergency services.
They also put out a warning for drivers : " Try and stay off the roads. They are very dangerous if you have to make an essential journey be very careful the temperature will drop over night and create a lot of ice and hazardous conditions. "
The Met Office has just put out a yellow warning for ice over most of England and all of Wales warning people to be extra careful as the temperatures fall.
In Midsomer Norton the night time temperature is expected to never go above zero and to minus two in the early hours. On Monday the forecast is for another cold day with the top day time temperature of four degrees celcius.
B&NES gritters were out last night and this morning, although some residents of Midsomer Norton were commenting that the main road into Paulton was impassable. They have just announced that the gritters are heading out again tonight in what they have called " challenging conditions ".
Adding : Please do not make unnecessary journeys. Remember stay home, protect the NHS, save lives.
Thank you very much local resident Joseph Wooltorton for this amazing drone video of the local area.
