Fire in commercial kitchen at Faulkland, Frome

Date: 23.07.2019Time: 16:49Location: Faulkland, FromeOne fire engine from Frome, assisted by one from Trowbridge from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire, were sent to reports of fire within a commercial kitchen.On arrival crews immediately set to work using two sets of breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and one main jet to begin extinguishing the fire which was found to be located within a dishwasher.Crews also used one safety jet, a thermal imaging camera and a positive pressure ventilation fan in extinguishing the fire. Mains gas, bottled gas, electricity and oil supplies were also isolated and one person was found to be suffering with slight smoke inhalation.The cause of the fire was accidental and there was 40% fire and heat damage, and 100% smoke damage to the kitchen.
