Fire service cut off roof of vehicle to release injured person in Binegar crash

The fire service were out yesterday (February 14) evening at Bennetts Lane at Binegar following a four vehicle crash.

Two fire engines from Shepton Mallet and a heavy rescue tender from Glastonbury, were all sent to the accident with reports of people being trapped.

On arrival the crews found one person trapped in one of the vehicles and they removed the roof of the vehicle to extricate the casualty using hydraulic cutting equipment.

The casualty was left in the hands of the ambulance crew and all other vehicles were made safe.
