A church in Peasedown St John has launched a new six-week course to support those in the local community who are experiencing bereavement.

Launched in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, 'The Bereavement Journey – a Place to Talk' starts on Thursday 6th May and will cover the following topics:

  • Attachment, separation and loss
  • The impact and pain of bereavement
  • Adjusting to change
  • Anger and guilt
  • Coping with others' reactions
  • Moving on healthfully

  • An optional 6th session on questions of faith

Church leader, Revd Matthew Street, said: "Are you grieving the death of a loved one or struggling with the long-term effects of loss?

" The Bereavement Journey is run over six sessions and is for anyone who has been bereaved. Bereavement can impact hugely and affect all areas of life. By means of a series of films and discussion groups it gently guides bereaved people through the most common aspects of grief, enabling them to process the implications for themselves and discern next steps.

"The course is free and anyone who is struggling to come to terms with the death of a loved one is welcome to take part."

The Bereavement Journey will be run via Zoom and starts on 6th May. To find out more or/and to register your interest in joining the course, please contact David and Elaine Williams - [email protected]
