Below is a list of events happening in Midsomer and the surrounding area in the coming week, March 5-12.

Tomorrow lunchtime music at Midsomer Town Hall. From noon - with home made cakes -what is not to love ? Trio Paradis have been the trio in residence at Midsomer Norton Town Hall since 2012 and play a Palm Court concert every first Friday lunchtime of the month.

On Saturday March 7 The Haus Band make a very welcome return to Mardons Social Club, Midsomer Norton. The funky, fresh, vibrant, six-piece are a class act, they have impressed on every visit to Mardons, and are now one of the highlights of the club's calendar. Live music, for free, non members and new faces very welcome and music starts at 9pm.

Over the weekend it's a festival of delight for rail enthusiasts and their families.Classic diesel locomotives in action from 10am at the Midsomer Norton station, along with demonstration freight trains. Organisers say that the trains will run, whatever the weather, over Saturday and Sunday until 4pm.

Then next Tuesday what are you doing for lunch? Why not pop over to St Peter's Church, Westfield for a bowl of soup and a roll all aid of the local Midsomer Norton charity, SWALLOW.
