The Midsomer Norton Community Trust, organisers of the Midsomer Norton Music and Arts Festival, are proud and delighted to announce the full musical line-up, along with the family-friendly Arts Marquee attractions.

Joining headliners The Entitled Sons is local legend Gavin Osborn.

The humorous but heart-felt singer-songwriter, originally from Bedford, has resided in the Bath area for several years. He's performed shows with comedian Daniel Kitson and supported Belle & Sebastian.

And Gavin's looking forward to the day: "I'm thrilled to be asked to play at Midsomer Norton Music Festival this year. My son's football team always lose at Midsomer Norton so this a chance to have a successful afternoon there for a change. The best thing about being asked to play is knowing that I'm going to see new faces, meet new people, be back onstage singing songs I love with my mate John, who is a brilliant pianist and trumpeter".

"The worst thing about performing is having to write these blurbs. I've got a song about how hard it is to write about yourself, so you can expect me to sing that one". Gavin continued, "It'll be a proper 'festival' set I reckon, blowing the cobwebs off some of our old stuff. Some funny ones, some bittersweet, some singalong stuff, the acoustic story-songs...the usual thing we do. It's such a good line-up and we're so excited to see you all on the day".

And joining Gavin on the main stage, will be various performers from sponsor Bath College's Level 3 music students. Playing live in the afternoon will be Carys, Caitlin Newble, Angel Mills band (Anna, Lilly, Charlie, Nico), Molly & Summer band (Molly, Summer, Lilly, Zac), Daisy & Nico, and The Pressure band (Hayden, Rob, Oscar, Charlie).

"I'm so excited for our students", commented Ian Jay, Music Lecturer at Bath College. "It's a super opportunity for our first and second year students to play at such a fantastic event. It will be a new experience for them all". Expect to hear a mixture of covers and original songs.

The Festival will include a range of food and drink, served throughout the day. Outfield Festival are providing the bar, and there hot and cold food, savouries and sweet.

There will be an Art Marquee this year, which will be exhibiting community art work as well as holding art workshops and activities. Art work produced by local groups and schools for the "My High Street" community art trail will be on display, and there will be a variety of creative workshops for all ages and abilities. There will also be a Spray art demonstration that will lead to a final piece of work late in the day.

Serenity Audio are providing the sound system, and the stage is kindly supplied by Massey Wilcox. Somer Valley FM will in attendance at the festival. There will also be face printing and bouncy castles to keep you entertained.

We are very grateful for the sponsorship of Midsomer Norton Town Council, Curo, LitFibre, Bath City College and the Mendip and District Round Table, and to the Cultural Consortium for helping with the Art workshops and exhibitions. We are also very grateful for the use of the lorry trailer, supplied by Massey Wilcox, and to all the volunteers who help make this happen.

Watch out for more Festival news to come, and keep the date in your diary – 1pm Saturday 3 June 2023.
