Fund set up to feed Midsomer and Radstock kids over half term tops one thousand pounds
The fund set up by three local mums to fund feeding kids who won't be able to get free school meals over half term has raised over a thousand pounds.
Two big donations have also been made anonymously, one for £200.
The fund was set up after three mums decided to act to offer up free lunches for children who need it over half term.
It follows the vote by parliament not to extend free school meals over holiday periods, urged by the football Marcus Rashford.
The mums and what they are up to, are on the local radio Somer Valley FM this lunchtime with an opportunity for other businesses and organisations who are offering to help to list what they are doing.
At noon on Monday Richard Burgess ( 97.5 MHz) will be interviewing the mums themselves and pulling together all the offers of help.
Residents can call into the studio any time on 01761 411755, and tell the station of their #endchildfoodpoverty offers, and they will broadcast the details on air at least daily.

The mums say that any money left over after this week will be donated to the local foodbank. Sixteen meals have already been sent out as of today (October 26) at 10am.
