Have your say this Saturday

Residents of Midsomer Norton are being urged to have their say with the beginning of a new venture by the town council, open meetings starting on Saturday.

There is no agenda, the council just wants to hear from people who live in the town to tell them what is their priority for the future.

There have already been several inquiries into the council offices, but the team there want to see as much engagement as possible.

It is the first time this kind of open forum has happened in the town, and councillors are hoping to see lots of people at the Town Hall at 9 am.

Last year Midsomer Norton was announced as one of 59 towns across England to get a portion of a £95 million grant to revive historic shopping areas.

Councillors would welcome an ideas of how to use that funding, once it arrives.

This Saturday's open meeting will be in the Beauchamp Room in the Town Hall, 9am-10am.

The next full council meeting will be on February 3 when the council must pass this year's budget. The next planning meeting for the town, also at the council offices, will be on January 13.
