Heard of Cheddar Cheese - What about a Midsomer Meatball ?

By Susie Watkins 25th May 2021

A mouthful from Midsomer ?
A mouthful from Midsomer ?

Spotted.

In the local butchers in Midsomer Norton.

We have all heard of Cheddar Cheese, and then there is Buxton Blue, a cheese which is named after where it is produced and is protected by a so-called Protected Designation of Origin order.

That is the name of an area, a specific place or, in exceptional cases, the name of a country, used as a designation for an agricultural product or a foodstuff.

So the list includes, Cornish clotted cream, Pembrokeshire Potatoes, and of course, the much-fought over and disputed, Cornish pasty.

Is it time for Midsomer to get on the food map?
