In his regular column for Midsomer Norton Nub News, the local MP writes:
In June, I wrote about the Peasedown Hub known officially as Wellness Resources 3SG, a community-wide organisation serving the whole of Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), which had been awarded some National Lottery Money.Last month, I had the pleasure of visiting the Hub where I was able to meet those running it, see how everything was organised and discuss which services were being offered to local residents, all bolstered by the Lottery grant and its partnership with local charities and other third sector bodies via the Compassionate Community.
3SG is an independent membership network backing the charity, social enterprise and the faith and voluntary sector in B&NES. It aims to raise the profile of its members, offer one to one support and give them an opportunity to influence local strategic decision making. They promote charity events, provide training and circulate information and job opportunities.
Working closely with the Council, Virgin Care, the Clinical Commissioning Group and volunteer services in B&NES, it became a registered charity in December 2018 and a founding member of the West Of England Civil Society Partnership.
The range of resources and advice that can be accessed by those in need of extra support is impressive and people are encouraged to contact 3SG if they are struggling with any general issues or those specifically relating to Covid-19. It is so reassuring that there are such groups in existence, especially during such times as these. If you would like to get in touch with the Hub click HERE: the 3sg site or e-mail: [email protected]
