It is back - for the first time since 2019 - get ready for the Midsomer Norton Carnival

The Carnival comes back to town tonight (November 14) - for the first time since 2019

Midsomer Norton Carnival says it is the largest community event in the Somer Valley.

Expect to be dazzled with illuminated carts, walking groups, masquerade pairs and individuals and community groups and trade entries.

The Carnival procession starts on the A367 at the roundabout adjacent to Charlton Lane at 7.30pm and proceeds into Charlton Road and past Norton Hill School before turning right down Silver Street past the Railway station, the area around the junction is not recommended for spectators.

The procession continues down Silver Street to the town hall where it then turns right into High Street at approximately 8pm and travels in the opposite direction to the normal traffic flow, this area is normally very busy with spectators.

At the top of the High Street, the procession reaches The Stones Cross, turns right onto Radstock Road, and continues to the finish line just after Welton Primary School.

Parking will be suspended and footpath closed on a number of streets within Midsomer Norton, Westfield and Radstock. The High Street will be closed at 5.30 pm and the rest of the procession route from 7pm.
