It will leave a baguette-sized hole in Midsomer - popular deli Docky's to close at Easter

By Susie Watkins 31st Jan 2023

A well-loved and part of the fabric of Midsomer Norton has announced it is shutting up after nearly 20 years.

Docky's Deli, on the Church Square, will close at Easter, on April 7.

" It was just the time to move on," Darren Curtis-White told Nub News who owns the popular shop with his wife Sharon. " The High Street has changed so much over 19 years, originally there weren't any cafes apart from us and Jackarandas which opened the same year we did.

"Today there are lots of food places, so we have seen a lot of changes. "

A message for all the customers; " Thank you so much for all your support, we have made so many lovely friends over the years, it has been great. No regrets at all."

The Deli, which opened on February 9th, also offered catering services, but that too will stop, as the couple move into full time other jobs,

The social media post : " Next week we will see the 19th birthday of Dockys, Sharon and I have decided that we have taken the shop as far as we can. We have made many friends on the way- we will be closing the door at Easter. So you still have plenty of time to fill up on your Dockys. "

They have been in business for 19 years and fans of their food, and the wonderful sense of humour applied to their sandwich specials were quick to express their sadness.

One customer posted : "You guys are an institution of Midsomer Norton. The town will have a big baguette shaped hole in its heart after Easter. "

Docky's Delicatessen in Midsomer Norton prided itself as home of the freshest, tastiest food in the South West.
