Join the Somer Valley Forum AGM to hear about planning, transport and regeneration plans

Residents in the Somer Valley area are being invited to hear more about local planning, transport and regeneration plans at the AGM of their Connecting Communities Forum.
The meeting is open to all residents and will be held on Tuesday 7 September at 6pm on Zoom.
Bath and North East Somerset Council's planning team will discuss the upcoming consultations for the Local Plan Partial Update and Supplementary Planning Documents which will be launched on 27 August. The West of England Combined Authority (WECA) will talk about their Transport Corridor Improvement project for the A37 and A367. There will also be presentations on the Somer Valley Implementation Plan; Somer Valley Enterprise Zone and an update on the Midsomer Norton High Street Regeneration improvements.
The Somer Area Forum, which covers Farmborough, Farrington Gurney, High Littleton, Midsomer Norton, Paulton, Peasedown St John, Radstock, Timsbury and Westfield is supported by Bath & North East Somerset Council and brings together public services, local organisations and residents to improve local engagement, encourage people to talk to each other and share their skills and ideas.
Kevin Guy, leader of Bath and North East Somerset, said: "Our area forums, part of the Connecting Communities programme, are still being held online so it's much easier for anyone to take part and have their say. The events aim to encourage public services and local residents to work together to address areas of concern in their communities and they are an easy way for people to get involved."
Current Forum Chair, Lynda Robertson, said: "At this AGM meeting we will turn our attention to planning, transport and economic regeneration, which are all major issues that affect our local area. I'm very much looking forward to welcoming residents to the online meeting and hearing their feedback."
