Today is the last day if you would like to object to the proposal to allow BANES Council to consider the council selling part of South Road Car Park for residential development.

Following discussions with the planning management a Midsomer Norton councillor has managed to get them to agree that objections can be sent via email to the following address:

Cllr Shaun Hughes posted: " I have requested an extension to ensure that all resident have an opportunity to comment and this truly reflects local concern, however BANES council are not prepared to allow this. "

Currently B&NES are updating planning policies and there is a public consultation to ask your opinion on the proposed changes including a proposal to change the designation of South Road Car Park.

The council wants to have an option to sell it for housing.

Councillor Hughes said: "Our car park it is a vital part of the town centre revival and survival and therefore is not for sale to housing developers, supermarkets or any other development.
