Bath-based flamenco teacher and fitness instructor Maria Cristina aka 'La Flamenquita' is hosting a drop-in Latin fitness event at Bath Recreation Ground on Saturday 1st October at 11.30, in aid of local cancer charity We Hear You (WHY). The session lasts 40 minutes and is suitable for all ages and fitness levels; no prior experience necessary, it's just for fun!

In La Flamenquita's words: "I would particularly like to support WHY because one of my fellow dancers has used the service and found it enormously helpful . She tells me that WHY is 'so much more than a cancer support charity'. Personally, I feel that the right counselling, at the right time, can play a crucial role in helping cancer sufferers navigate difficult circumstances. There are those in our regular dance groups whose lives have been turned upside down by cancer and I would like to do anything that I can to make their lives easier - this is a major motivation for me in wanting to support We Hear You."

WHY's Fundraising Officer Helen White said: Thank you so much to Maria Cristina for organising this fantastic, fun event – come and dance with us on 1st October, boost your mood and get your circulation going while you raise money for an important local charity, working in your community. Please help boost the money raised by giving generously via the donation page at https://bit.ly/la-flamenquita-why, or just drop some change in a donation bucket on the day."

The Latin fitness event takes place on Saturday 1st October at Bath Recreation Ground at 11.30 and lasts 40 minutes. Participants are advised to wear loose comfortable clothes and bring a bottle of water. Please note there are no toilet facilities available. Entry is by donation on the day or via https://bit.ly/la-flamenquita-why.
