Midsomer Norton Methodist celebrated Christmas with lots of services.

On the Sunday morning before Christmas we had a Nativity Service led by our Minister, Rev. Stephen Robinson, and our band. In this, the 'Open the Book' team who usually go out to local schools, enacted 3 of the Bob Hartman Christmas stories which focussed on different aspects of the birth of Jesus. The first was Joseph and his story, where we co-opted Charlene on to the team and she brought her 9-week-old Grandson, Zebedee; hence we had a real baby who slept through it all! The second story focused on the Shepherds and the third was a poem called 'From Sad to Glad'. Stephen drew out further thoughts on these stories.

Sunday Evening we had our 2 Candlelight Carol Services to ensure we were well spaced to keep in Covid restrictions. This was various Bible readings by different members with a selection of carols in between, with a message from our minister.

On Christmas Eve we again had 2 Services because of Covid restrictions. Stephen led us through the meanings of the Christingle with its, Orange, Candle, Ribbon and Sultanas on cocktail sticks. 'Will the Puppet' joined us at those and the Christmas Day Service.

At the latter, we again sang carols with Stephen getting the children to show presents received and to make his 'Minister's Christmas Jokes' amongst the more serious side of the occasion.

So we celebrated with Fun, Music and Reflection on what Jesus' birth meant to the world and to each of us today.
