Saturday 9th December was the Midsomer Norton and District Carnival Association Annual Presentation evening held at Pratten's Social Club.

16 classes of entrants plus many special awards were handed out on a dazzling evening celebrating 75 years of the Association.

Chairman Steve Collins announced the awards which were presented by this years' Carnival Royalty, the recently crowned princes, Cody Wilson, Jacob Hinge and Kian Barson with Princess Chloe Wall and Queen Aeris Stuparyk.

The Mayor of Midsomer Norton, Cllr Gordon Mackay said a few words to open the ceremony, thanking everyone for their hard work and praising the continued success of the Carnival.

Best Local Entry and winner of the Pat Franklin Memorial Trophy went to Uk'Otoa (King William CC) with the Best Open Entry being awarded to "December the 25th" (Huckyduck CC).

"We're so lucky to have the Illuminated Carnival in Midsomer Norton", commented Cllr Mackay, "it's a fantastic event and always great to see our street lined with people watching the incredible displays."

A full list of winners is available on the Association's website www.illuminatedcarnival.co.uk where there is also a full schedule of Santa dates, being arranged by the Carnival Club with the final round concluding on the 23rd December in Harptree.
