The respected and much valued local charity, SWALLOW which supports over one hundred vulnerable adults and young people with their cafe, is to close.

In a statement the charity said: " After much consideration and in line with the Governments latest announcement we have taken the decision to close SWALLOW Community Café.

"Their advice is for all non-essential contact to cease, and for people to avoid pubs, restaurants and cafe's. The health and safety of our staff, members and customers is the most important thing and this is why the Café will be closed until further notice. We are devastated to take this step but its absolutely necessary to support the fight against the spread of this disease."

Their spokesman added all our social activites are closed, but we are deciding on other support services on a day by day basis, depending on staff availability and the needs of our members. She said: " The health and well being of our members and staff are paramount."
