A family-run fish and chip shop in Midsomer Norton is up for sale - with the agents saying it is due some up dating - for example for the business to start taking card payments.

Dhillon's Fish Bar on Redfield Road is for sale for £290,000, which includes a four bedroomed home.

The fish and chip takeaway has been run, according to agents Cooper & Tanner, to suit the current business owners. So that has meant no deliveries, no card payments and no web site.

According to UK Finance, which represents the banking and finance industry the trend away from cash-only businesses only accelerated during the covid pandemic, In 2008, about 60% payments were in cash, and by 2020 that figure was just 17 per cent across the whole of the UK.

IN the case of Dhillon's the sales pitch is : " Whilst currently profitable the business has been running to suit the Vendors own lifestyle. There is substantial potential for growth in numerous ways such as through increased opening hours, deliveries, acceptance of card payments. "

The living space has a ground floor bedroom and shower room, three further double bedrooms and lots of parking.

The business has a rateable value of £2,250. The business is being sold via Cooper & Tanner's Glastonbury office.
