Midsomer Norton appeal : Help the homeless with funding of these unique life saving Sleep Pods

If you have ventured outside today (December 6) you will agree with the local weather man Kilmersdon Weather, who reported that temperatures have been struggling to get above five degrees today.
And while he predicts that we may be in for some milder temperatures later in the week, it is no weather to be outside, let alone sleeping rough.
Which is why one local campaigner is urging everyone to consider how harsh conditions are for the homeless and how they can help.
Midsomer's Jon Durrant has been out collecting materials for a unique nationwide rescue venture, building emergency shelters for the homeless which will be made into Sleep Pods next weekend.
He will then be taking the completed pods out for distribution from December 19.
Jon posted on his social media page : " After wandering around Bath today only for a few hours in the cold wind and the prospect of rain motivates us to get these life-savers built and distributed asap."
Each pod costs around £30 for materials .

According to some of the latest research since 2010 the rough sleeping figure has increased by 141% - and after the pandemic it is predicted to be even worse. HERE : the Homeless dot Org site
Jon, who wants to raise awareness of homelessness as well as vital funds adds : " Please share so that we can raise as much money as possible to build as many as possible. Every one that is built makes someone more comfortable and potentially saves a life." According to the charity's website Sleep pods have many advantages . They are :-Insulated Self-Warming
- Rain resistant- Wind resistant
- Quick and Easy to Use- Lightweight, Easy to Pack and Carry
Since the project started in 2018, they have built and distributed thousands of Sleep Pods, but this year are hoping that a big push will see 10,000 of them being built.
