Midsomer Norton IS the centre of this graphic novel universe

Midsomer Norton is officially the centre of the universe - everyone knows that - but now the town has been immortalised in a comic book.

It has been captured for eternity in a new comic book, Once & Future #9 which was drawn by a leading award-winning artist and journalist.

However if you were hoping to spot a Midsomer landmark, you will be disappointed. The only place explicitly set near Midsomer Norton is the scenes in the lead character's retirement home, but this was drawn by the artist without reference, so it doesn't exactly look like any house in the town.

Creative Kieron Gillen told Nub News: " I used Midsomer Norton as the majority of the story is set around Avon, Wales and the areas. The story starts in Bath, and I wanted a place outside Bath, but within easy driving distance.

"I used to live in Bath and Bristol for all my 20s, so know the areas quite well."

Kieron is exceptionally highly regarded in the comic book world. In 2020, Gillen received two Hugo Award nominations for Best Graphic Story or Comic for his work on the final volume of The Wicked + The Divine and the first volume of Die.

You can get hold of the collections from several leading bookshops but also from specialist comic shops, the nearest one would be American Dream Comics in Bath. You can find them by clicking HERE: the American Dream site
