There will be no football matches at Welton Rovers for at least the next two weeks.

The club has suspended its play in the Toolstation League Western League following advice from the FA and in line with other leagues.

It comes just a week after new manager Tom Smith added six new signings to the squad for what was expected to be a busy schedule of fixtures ahead

No games will be played from today (Saturday 14th March) for a period of two weeks. This will be reviewed by the league on Friday 27th March.

Two positive cases of the virus were confirmed yesterday (March 13) in B&NES.

In a statement the council said: " Please be reassured the risk to the public remains low and we are working with health colleagues to ensure people are protected and are treated if needed."
