The roadworks along side Norton Hill school were today (August 25) causing long delays down into town and along Charlton Road.

The three way traffic control around the bend opposite the Heritage Station was proving particularly troublesome for larger vehicles and causing long traffic jams with two double decker buses in the queues.

The work, being carried out under B&NES started July 22 and is forecast not to finish until September 4 - the day before schools return. The diggers are putting in a new Puffin crossing.

Ironically on the national web site recording all road works - roadworks dot org - the warning is : Roadworks, delays unlikely
