Midsomer Norton High Street is preparing to welcome a new business to the town, in the former betting shop.

Backhouse Bet moved up the street and the shop has been vacant until now.

Midsomer Norton Nub News understands that the new business is hoping to move into the premises in the middle of next month.

The High Street is due a major injection of money to revive the trading area as part of a £95 million heritage boost fund from the government.

The town is one of 69 in England which will see its High Street revitalised by the £95 million cash injection.

The project is the biggest ever single investment by Government in the UK's built heritage, and projects across the country will be using the money to transform disused historic buildings into shops, houses and community centres.

Funding will help traditional businesses adapt to better compete with online outlets.
