As reported earlier in our planning round up.

Plans for a nursery at a growing Somerset school have been submitted.

Cameley Primary School is currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment and extension to allow pupil numbers to swell from 140 to 210 to cater for new housing developments in Temple Cloud.

Leaders want to add a 45-place nursery for children aged three to five that would open between 7.30am and 6pm.

There are limited opportunities for extending the existing building to provide the additional accommodation without impacting on the existing hard or soft play areas. The proposal is to extend the school into the existing entrance/exit and parking area, at a cost of 14 parking spaces, although the number of disabled bays would double to two. am

The existing southern access would close and the northern access would become two-way.

The move is expected to create five new full-time jobs, taking the total number of staff to 29.
