A top film production crew is finishing up two days of shooting at what they said was a 'perfect' location in Midsomer Norton.

They are in the second day of filming of a new series starring Stephen Merchant, although it is not known if he has been on set.

The film crew were at the former factory site in Welton and said they came from Bristol, with this location, the furthest from their base main base and one of a total of 80 locations.

A production lead on set spoke to Nub News and told us it was a perfect space to shoot. The creative, who wishes to remain anonymous, said that they were on the final day of a two day shoot.

He told us he could not give any full details but said: " We are filming a TV show which is going to be out on the BBC in about a year's time, more or less.

" I wont tell you too much about it but this is a very special place. Its a crime drama which we are very excited about.

" The Offenders... I wont reveal the stars but it is exciting. So keep your eyes out. "

The crew has tried to use local people as much as possible, and bought some heaters from the Tesco store in Paulton to keep the stars warm.

" We have about 80 locations for filming over all. But we are mainly around the Bristol and Bath areas for another nine months or so.

" We are not planning to come back here but who knows. We have been here for five days in total, three days preparing and two days filming.

"It has been a really great location. It is very creepy. Not every day you can film in an abandoned warehouse like this.

"Just look out for it in about a year's time, the scripts are really amazing."

In the release Stephen Merchant, who also directs and co-stars in the series, said: "The Offenders is a long-standing passion project for me. My parents used to work in the Community Service world and I was always intrigued that the many and varied people they dealt with only had one thing in common: they'd committed a crime. "
