Campaigners fighting a planning application over in Radstock are in the process of putting in a Right Of Way request as they believe any development will cut off a well-loved historic path.

A local councillor told Nub News : " We're not necessarily against the redevelopment of the pub, but we'd love for some community use for the building, such as a small retail space, to be included in the plans, reflecting the position of this building at the heart of the community for the better part of 200 years ".

Cllr Liam Kirby "We're also deeply concerned that the plans build across a walking route that people here have used for generations, linking Morley Terrace to Stonable Road. If the plans go ahead, the whole shape of the neighbourhood will be irrevocably changed. "

The group is also asking the building's current owners, Admiral Taverns, to consult with the community based on the hill in Radstock near the now demolished Walnut Buildings.

Radstock Town Council formally objected to the plans at the planning meeting last week.

The deadline to comment on the planning application is November 9.You can comment on the proposals HERE https://www.bathnes.gov.uk/webforms/planning/details.html?refval=23%2F02894%2FFUL#documents_Section

The plans are for : Partial demolition and conversion of former Public House into 3 dwellings and erection of 6 dwellings on former Pub Garden Former Tyning Inn Public House, Walnut Buildings, Radstock
