Bath & North East Somerset Council has supported residents with advice and guidance and an online event planning toolkit to ensure the celebrations will be safe and successful, with the waiving of road closure application fees.
Mandy Bishop, Chief Operating Officer, said: "The Coronation weekend is a fantastic opportunity for our communities to come together and celebrate this historic occasion. We're delighted to have been able to approve the applications for many street parties and support people who are giving up their time to create memorable events for their neighbours. That's what community is all about.
"We are also pleased to be offering free events at our libraries for people of all ages. We look forward to seeing the fun unfold as Bath and North East Somerset turns red, white and blue."
The Coronation of their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla takes place on Saturday, May 6 at Westminster Abbey. On Sunday, May 7 there is the Coronation Big Lunch at which neighbours and communities are invited to share food and fun together. Also on that day is the Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle.
The extra bank holiday on Monday, May 8 provides an opportunity to join The Big Help Out, encouraging people to try volunteering for themselves. Further information about the national Coronation events can be found here: Official Royal Coronation Weekend Guidance and on the interactive map.
