After two missed years because of Covid restrictions, the Outfield Festival put on a triumphant return at Midsomer Norton's Cricket Club ground on Sunday (August 28). Mayor Lynda Robertson addressed the gathering crowd as they basked in glorious August sunshine. The all-star lineup continued throughout the day entertaining the sell-out crowd, some of whom had travelled the length of the country to see acts such as Mesh and Scouting for Girls.

Including many delicious food offerings, the festival was superbly run with ample facilities including a silent disco and craft area to keep the younger audience entertained.

"What a fantastic event," enthused Deputy Mayor, Cllr Gordon Mackay who was in attendance with his family. "You really have to give so much credit to the guys who put this on. Their dedication and ambition is fantastic. I'm proud the Town Council was able to support the festival this year and really hope we can find ways to do so again, in future."

The Cricket Club is one of Midsomer Norton's most popular family-friendly social hubs, regularly hosting entertainment and music events in addition to their thriving youths cricket section. With the season now drawing to a close, the club will continue to open throughout the autumn and winter providing a great place for families to socialise.
