Overwhelming support for feeding children over half term - if you can help dial into the local radio station
The local mums who are organising to feed schoolchildren over half term have raised more than six times the amount they set out to for their micro campaign.
They have also been overwhelmed with offers of help from local cafes, groups and just individuals wanting to lend a hand.
If you want to offer help or find out how to get meals for your children, you can tune in to the local community radio, Somer Valley FM. At noon on Monday Richard Burgess ( 97.5 MHz) will be interviewing the mums themselves and pulling together all the offers of help.
Residents can call into the studio any time on 01761 411755, tell your #endchildfoodpoverty offers, and they will broadcast the details on air at least daily.
Meantime the Go Fund Me campaign to help the mums with their offer to ensure no child goes hungry this half term, has already beaten its target.
The mums decided (October 23) to unite to deliver lunchtime meals to kids following the parliamentary vote not to extend free schools meals over half term, a campaign led by footballer Marcus Rashford.

One of the mums Amy Pritchard told Nub News: "So we have received requests for over 50 meals so far. We will be shopping tomorrow for the first half of the week, but we still want people to contact us if they need help."
