There is uncertainty today (January 9) over the future of Papa John's in Midsomer Norton, as the national chain announces it plans to close up to a fifth of its stores.

The chain said it would close " low-performing restaurants " according to the Metro newspaper, but refused to say which they will be.

Papa John's on the High Street in Midsomer Norton, only opened in December 2021.

It also has an even newer branch in Frome which opened next to the Spar in February 2023.

Papa John's is the UK's second largest pizza takeaway brand, behind Dominos which has 1,253 locations and ahead of Pizza Hut, which has 150 branches.
