Peasedown Church takes part in district-wide Christmas Carol Trail

By Susie Watkins 5th Dec 2020

Churches across Bath and North East Somerset have teamed up during December to put together the area's first ever 'Christmas Carol Trail'.

26 churches across the local authority have created window displays – depicting a different Christmas Carol each time.

St John's Anglican Church in Peasedown St John is taking part.

Church Leader, Revd Matthew Street said: "This Christmas is going to be very different to any other. With restrictions on gatherings and organised events, we're having to celebrate the festive season in new and creative ways.

Here in Peasedown we are taking part in the B&NES-wide Christmas Carol Trail. The windows at the front of our church hall in Church Road depict a certain Christmas carol. Can you guess what it is?"

Coordinator and Children's Worker Sarah Carney, added: "St John's wanted to be involved in this fun idea, as we as a church want to bring joy to our community at this challenging time.

Our carol service at the church and carols at the Red Post Inn are always well attended, but will not be able to take place this year. Our display will be a community effort, with contributions from the church family, our SJs After School Club kids and our support group families. This display will be seen from Church Road for all passers-by to enjoy."

Anyone who would like to take part in the Christmas Carol Trail can visit the Bath site
