A couple from Peasedown St John have celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary.

Sue and Eddie Eades, originally from Bath, were treated to a celebration with friends and family to mark the occasion.

Married at Church of Our Lady & St Alphege in Oldfield Lane on Saturday 20th July 1963, Sue and Eddie said their secret to a long and happy marriage is:

"Supporting each other throughout our family and working life. Allowing each other to grow into what they would choose to do and always working as a team."

Last Saturday, Peasedown's local councillors Gavin Heathcote and Karen Walker were invited along to surprise the couple with a special bouquet of flowers to congratulate them on 60 years of marriage.

"Celebrating 60 years of marriage is an incredible achievement," said Gavin and Karen, "here's to many more happy years together!"
