And an update on the progress of works at Midsomer Norton Town Hall, as revealed in the agenda of next week's Midsomer Norton Town Council meeting

"There have been some minor amendments to increase the size of the accessible toilet on the ground floor following feedback from a member of the Town Council. Otherwise, there are no modifications to report at present. As mentioned above, there is currently a delay in completing demolition works. An updated programme showing the forecast delay will form the basis of a discussion to agree mitigations at the next Site Progress Meeting (9th November). The contract value is £1,095,797. Certificate no.1 and the subsequent invoice were for £44,686, leaving a balance of £1,051,111 of capital contractor costs remaining."

Also from that agenda, a request for double yellow lines has been made to B&NES Highways/Road Markings and Signage has been made by Midsomer Norton Town Council on the Chilcompton Road opposite the junction with Laburnum Grove. "The vehicles parked opposite the junction are preventing drivers from turning safely at this junction, particularly as there are often no passing places for cars travelling along Chilcompton Road. The junction is often congested and sight lines are particularly poor when turning right out of Laburnum Grove because of the vans and cars parked across the junction." post the council.

Planning decisions made by B&NES include:

An application to build a bungalow at 34 St Peter's Road, in Westfield, has been refused. In its decision planners wrote: "The loss of the existing gap and open space to the north of 34 St Peters Road, and the size of the plot itself will give rise to a cramped form of development that is not in-keeping with the local context in terms of size, spacing, siting and layout."

No objection to an application to 105 (Robinia pseudoacacia)- Fell. 106 (Ash)- Fell. 108 (Ash)- Fell. 110 (Ash)- Fell. 111 (Ash)- Fell. 112 (Ash)- Fell ( amended description). 113 (Ash)- Fell at Manor Farm, Millards Hill, in Welton.

Permitted, variation of condition 4 (Height Restriction (Compliance)) of application 21/04069/OUT (Outline planning application with all matters reserved. Save for access for the erection of one house)at 24 Belle Vue, also in Welton.
