Planning news in and around Midsomer Norton this week.

The local church St John The Baptist, on Church Square, in Midsomer Norton, has been given a tree exemption order to fell two dead Ash trees, a Beech and an Elm tree in the graveyard. 22/03087/TC5

 19 Clapton Road, Midsomer Norton has applied for prior approval for a single storey rear extension that would 1) extend beyond the rear wall of the original house by 5.74 metres 2) have a maximum height of 2.90 metres and 3) have eaves that are 2.40 metres high. Details under

Barton Meade House , at 126 Kilmersdon Road, in Radstock, has applied to make alterations to an existing lean-to extension; addition of a new stove flue; installation of PV panels to roof; addition of new, and alterations to existing, windows and doors. Details under 22/02854/FUL

Also in Radstock an application to reduce the height of some Yew trees at 11 Bath Old Road, along with work on a nearby Cyprus tree. All details 22/03051/TCA

Lyn House, on the Wells Road, in Hallatrow, has been given permission for a loft conversion

Also in case you missed it, an application to turn the old Argos store at 32 High Street, in Midsomer Norton has been ruled lawful. Mike Hill from the company The Gym Limited, requested a proposed use within Class E for indoor sport, recreation or fitness and operation under existing unrestricted hours (Certificate of Lawfulness of Proposed Use). Nub News went past it today (August 3) and it looked like work already beginning on converting the space.
