Planning news in and around Midsomer Norton this week and the building work at the old Radco store in Radstock looks imminent

Planning news in and around Midsomer Norton this week:

Work is about to start on the redevelopment of the old Radco in Radstock. On Monday (May 22) workmen were putting up the fences that will go around the building work, so it is thought that will happen in the next week or so. The plans for the former supermarket site and car park in Radstock include construction of a new 19,321 sq ft Co-operative supermarket, 7,771 sq ft of office space and then 28 homes. Details under reference 21/05254/COND. Also included is an outline application for a further 26 homes at the site as a second phase of development.

Over in Paulton, at number 5 on the High Street, an application is in to discharge of conditions 2 and 3 of 19/03346/FUL (as amended by 21/03425/NMA) which is for the conversion of two derelict buildings into eight new flats Details under 22/01653/COND

Also in Paulton, a planning application is in to build an extension at 5 St Julien's Close 22/02035/FUL

An application has been made to install PV solar panels at Cloud Hill Farm , on Eastcourt Road in Temple Cloud. The application is to make sure that this is a permitted installation and the energy produced would be for the farm's use. Details 22/02045/CLPU

In Clandown, an application is in to build a ground floor extension to the rear of 4 Duchy Road and to put in an additional first floor extension over an existing garage. Details under 22/02020/FUL

An application is in to reduce the crown of a Sycamore tree at 19 Frome Road, in Radstock. For more information use reference 22/02025/TCA

Fairview, on Mells Lane, in Radstock has put in an application to discharge of condition 2 (Wildlife Protection and Enhancement Scheme (Pre-commencement)) of the application 22/00204/FUL. That is for a change of use of land from agricultural to residential and the building of a single storey rear extension and detached double garage. Details under 22/01957/COND

Planning decisions taken by B&NES this week include:

The application for a single-storey rear extension and two-storey side/rear extensions at 35 Paulton Road, Midsomer Norton has been permitted.

No objection to the application to fell a Christmas Tree at 1 Primrose Terrace, on Pit Road in Midsomer Norton

There is no objection to an application to fell three Ash trees on land to the West of Providence Bungalow on the Frome Road in Radstock
