In planning news in and around Midsomer Norton this week, an application has been made to create a baby yoga, massage and sensory space in the building of Price Jewellers, at 6 Chesterfield House on the High Street.

Mrs Sally Teall has asked planners to agree to a change of use from A1 usage to D1 - which would allow her to move her existing yoga and sensory massage business there.

In the application she wrote to planners: " I already hold baby massage, baby yoga, messy play, sensory classes and toddler yoga teaching classes in Midsomer Norton and would like to use this as my new venue. My business works with families providing fun, educational classes helping new parents to grow and develop. My classes all support children with a variety of needs and disabilities. I also run 'free' PANDAS sessions for parents struggling with postnatal depression.

" I already run these classes in the town and have over 130 people visit me on a weekly basis. My classes bring lots of young families into town who may not have visited otherwise and and most groups of parents attend my classes and then meet for coffee in local establishments and then shop before returning home."

She plans to buy the building and decorate it inside and out, telling the B&NES planners : " I am committed to wanting the town to thrive and would be very happy to work with other shops and cafes to make all businesses work as a whole."
