The £9,000 River Somer clear up and replant in Midsomer Norton has now ended the first stage.

As these photos from today (January 30) show, the water now runs along a series of curves along the whole length, with gravel banks to the side.

A lot of Midsomer Norton residents have been positive about the work so far, but are holding off final comments until the replanting has been completed.

One comment on social media was :" It looks lovely - but hope you are leaving some plants vegetation for animals and insects."
