At every Radstock event, at every Radstock anniversary, there are some colourful designs which go up.

Radstock in Bloom, the wheel outside the museum. the town is a more colourful place thanks to this small band of dedicated yarn-artists.

The friendly group, will be meeting this Saturday in the church centre at St Nicholas. 10am to 12pm.

They were also in their own tent at the recent Jubilee Festival.

Bunting is in their DNA, but according to the team leader Radstock residents need to watch this space, if they get permission, they will embark on their biggest design ever.

All very hush hush, but Nub News was told : " We have plans."

Flowers and butterflies for the Radstock in Bloom display in July

Founded in 2017, in the past, and throughout covid, the group were busy with the needles. At Christmas they also decorated the fencing around the tree, and the 'wish list' was pretty extensive. They posted they need: White and purple poppies for new wreath, new banner for Christmas. Snowman and Christmas tree 3D effect, white poppies all the same pattern (will post pattern later) all white for the snowman, green squares and Christmas lights made from sparkly wool.

Some of their Christmas work in situ

With such a task list, perhaps it is not surprising that they would love others to join in, having lost members during the pandemic.

You don't have to be a super speedy knitter, in fact you don't need to be able to knit at all, they will happily teach you. So if you like nattering, and you want to be involved in something very special, then just get in touch.
