Midsomer Norton High Street will be welcoming Radstock butcher Phil Day who is moving his business to the old betting shop.

A sign in the Radstock shop window confirmed the news that Nub News had been told in September, but asked to keep quiet.

The butcher, which has been in Radstock for over five years is moving to the refurbished betting shop on the High Street in Midsomer Norton.

It is a commercial coup for Midsomer where the butcher hopes to increase passing trade.

Phil Day is a favourite of Radstock and will be sorely missed.

He has always prided himself on only using local suppliers and farmers from fresh meat through to freshly made sausages, burgers, pies, pasties and a selection of cooked meats.

On his web site Phil tells how he worked alongside established existing butchers from 2007 - 2015 before deciding in 2015 to start his own business.
