Radstock families will be relieved to know that the local church has appointed a new part time gardener for the upkeep of the churchyard and green spaces.

The graveyard has been gradually been taken back by nature, since the previous maintenance person resigned from the post in March.

Now one of the wardens at St Nicholas has confirmed that they have appointed a gardener who will be working there for eight hours a week.

However the church side graveyard is a big site, and Church Warden, Sally Camac Bailey is asking if people in the community might also be able to help.

She told Nub News: " It would be great to have help from the community to try and tame it.. I've had a few offers and am planning on arranging several 'work parties' when the weather improves. "
