A new metal sculpture was placed at the war memorial in Radstock today (November 8).

It was created by the Chairman of The Midsomer Norton/ Radstock Royal British Legion, Martin Feeney.

He is behind the other silhouettes in Radstock on the mini roundabout including one of a nurse created in April this year, to honour the work of the NHS during the pandemic.

The placement today came as there were pared down Remembrance Day services in Midsomer Norton, Paulton and a small very personal and sombre meeting in Radstock.

The public were advised to commemorate the war dead on their own doorsteps, with big parades and processions not considered safe during the coronavirus pandemic.

But in Midsomer Norton there was a ceremony and at 11am the sounding of the last post.
