Bath & North East Somerset Council is highlighting some free materials that have been produced in response to Coronavirus (Covid-19) to help people with additional needs access essential information about the pandemic.
Mencap has produced an easy-read version of its Covid-19 information and autism consultant Carol Gray has produced a social story to help explain the virus to people with autism.
The free, online resources aim to make information about the pandemic accessible for people who might otherwise struggle to understand Government guidance.
Councillor Rob Appleyard, cabinet member for Adult Services, Safeguarding and Public Health, said: "In the current situation, it's challenging for any of us to get to grips with the Government guidance as it needs to change so rapidly.
"People who are unable to access the information easily are likely to be confused and overwhelmed about what is going on around them.
"Our residents' safety and wellbeing are our priority, so I want to highlight these accessible resources as an important tool for anyone who lives with or works with people with additional needs to help them deal with this difficult time."
