Retired local miners had a wonderful trip to Wye Valley to enjoy the last of the autumn sunshine.

Somerset Retired Miners went to the valley on a day out funded by the Somerset Welfare Miners Trust.

The Trust, run from the Radstock Museum, has an annual meet up and regular social events. But along with supporting retired miners and their families they have donated many thousands of pounds to local good causes. The next visit for miners will be Saunders Garden Centre and Brent House Carvery and Weymouth. If any former colliery worker is interested in more details, then please email Bryn Hawkins [email protected]

The last meet for the Trust was at the Radstock Museum in September. Read all about it HERE
