Cakes and more cakes every where

RotaKids of St. John's Primary School, Midsomer Norton hosted a very successful cake sale immediately following school on Monday, May 16.

A vast array of impressive cakes were donated by parents, teachers and members of the Rotary Club of Midsomer Norton & Radstock and were sold for 50p each, raising £270. The funds will be donated to Rotary Supporting Ukraine and Water Survival Boxes, a charity managed by the Rotary Club of Chelwood Bridge.

Jayne Hutton, Jon Hutton and Ian Huxham of Rotary along with the RotaKids and their teacher, Miss Banwell, helped in setting up the event and then stepped back to allow the Rotakids to do the hands-on selling, with the odd cake or two being consumed along the way.

The RotaKids will have their collection buckets at the ready again on Saturday, June 4, from 9am, where they'll once again collect for the above mentioned charities at the Farmers' Market, Hollies Gardens, High Street, Midsomer Norton and would very much appreciate community support.

RotaKids clubs are based in schools, youth groups or community centres and with the help and support from teachers, youth leaders and the local Rotary club, children can gain a valuable experience in helping others and learning interesting, new things.
