Screwfix store in Westfield is changing its opening hours

By Susie Watkins 1st Apr 2020

The Screwfix store in Westfield wants customers to know that it is changing its opening hours during the lockdown.

Its new opening hours will be from 8am until 5pm every week day and from 9am until 4 pm on a Saturday.

The store is busy with tradesmen and the public who need to get hold of essential DIY goods and they have been busy supplying local plumbers, electricians and the builders who can keep working safely.

Employee Kelly Johnston, seen here outside the store, has worked for the past four years and now helps ensure that staff and customers are kept safe by approaching the shop front at a safe distance.

She said: " If you have a burst pipe, we are here to help. We know how important it is that you can fix things when they break."

Keen to stress her admiration for the NHS staff Kelly added: "They are doing incredible work. But there are also other essential workers who are also keeping working and working hard....keeping things going, keeping people being able to buy essential goods. We are here if they do have a burst pipe. We do it every day."
